HIGHLIGHTS OF THE TRIPS
3 Long stretches of rafting on Upper Alaknanda
Countless rapids for an exciting whitewater trip
Beautiful scenery all around with villages, gorges, forest, etc.
Other activities like hiking and village visit
Description
This white water expedition is surely one of the finest ways to enjoy big rapids rafting in India. In about 3 days your thirst for white water thrills is sure to be quenched on this expedition on upper sections of Alaknanda river in the state of Uttarakhand. But there is much more to the trip than white water. This river journey is through a beautiful landscape interspersed with gorges, pristine beaches, quaint village establishments and thickly forested regions. Also a very big attraction is going to be the stay on the beautiful sandy beaches of Alaknanda.
We start the trip with a beautiful drive along the Ganga and the Alaknanda rivers. We take a break at our deluxe riverside camp in Jayalgarh and from here we continue the drive to our put in point, Gauchar. We have a detailed safety briefing and set off into the wild waters of the Alaknanda and rest assured you will be soaking wet within no time. There are countless rapids to be negotiated on this river expedition. The rapids will be in Class II IV category. You will have guides scouting a lot of rapids before running them, a great opportunity for all to learn more about the sport. We might decide not to run a few rapids along the way if they look tricky. This is a call the trip leader will take on the spot. After 3 days of pounding on the river we will finish the trip at lower Karnaprayag and from here drive back to Haridwar and proceed with our onwards journey
Another great attraction of the trip is the fact that the river is very easily accessible from Delhi and other parts of the country. To join the trip you will need to come to Haridwar or Dehradun airport. Please keep in mind that this trip is suitable for experienced rafters only. People joining this trip should be comfortable with water and white water and lots of it!!
